Wan Fambul is one family under God that strives to keep Sierra Leonean children united with their families through financial, medical, nutritional and educational support.
projects + needs.

Food and Housing Support
GOAL: $20,000/yr
Throughout the year we raise money for rice and other food and water items for single mothers and severely low income families. By providing nutritional support, we help families keep their children fed and healthy.
Many lower income families live in homes made of corrugated metal and tarps over the roof. During the raining season, conditions can get dangerous with flooding and mudslides. We partner with families to help them repair their homes or find new housing where they can keep their children healthy and safe all year long.
By supporting families with food and housing, kids are much more likely to stay with their birth family and not be surrendered to an institution where there is often better food and shelter but the emotional impact can be devastating.

Education
Fees
GOAL: $15,000/yr
Each year we send approximately 50 kids to school by providing their tuition fees, supplies and lunch money. Often, the lunch we pay for is their only good meal a day. By sending kids to school, we prevent things like early pregnancy and drug use and promote self-confidence and hope in their future.

Each child is approximately $300/year or $30/month.

Can you help us keep kids with their families by providing them education?

Medical
GOAL: $10,000/yr
Ahmed (5 yrs) is one of many examples of emergency medical assistance we've been able to provide to children in Sierra Leone.

A few weeks prior to this photo, Ahmed efll and scraped his arm while playing. Because of dirty living and water conditions, infection took over his arm from shoulder to wrist. The first hospital offered amputatation as the treatment, but by divine intervention we were made aware of Ahmed's case and were able to get him emergency surgery to save his arm.

Ahmed is his mother's only child, and she was grateful for our help.

Can you help us save lives by providing donations for medical procedures, both big and small?

Music
Academy
GOAL: $30,000/yr
When I visited Freetown in July 2024, I had the goal to connect with the Ballanta Music Acaemy, a music school in the heart of Freetown. Currently they serve students who can pay for classes, but the future vision is to provide music and arts classes to the underprivileged.

Our vision is to provide traditional school courses, a feeding program and basic medical care in addition to arts classes for each student.

Rural Village Children
GOAL: $2,000/yr
We were introduced to a group of village children in 2017 whose families could not afford to send them to school. We are now sending 8 kids to village school every year. By doing so, girls are less likely to marry early (around 13 yrs old) and boys are less likely to abuse their wives or abandon their families when they're older.

We want to double or triple the number of children we send to school in this particular village.

Wan Fambul House
GOAL: $15,000
We began building this house five years ago to provide safe shelter to friends and family members. At this time, Wan Fambul director and foster mother Princess lives here with her husband, biological children and 5 teens who have aged out of institutional care. When it's completed, this house can be a full-time home for up to 15+ people. We currently need to complete electrical and plumbing upstairs, interior and exterior plastering and paint, and various other unfinished things.

Wan Fambul’s office is also located in this building.
about.
Wan Fambul was founded by the Spillman Family in 2023 to support the people of Sierra Leone. The Spillmans adopted three brothers through an organization called The Raining Season in 2013. Nathan, Edwin and Bennett lived at an orphan care center operated by The Raining Season for several years and maintain relationships with family and friends in their birth country.

With such vast need in Sierra Leone, the Spillmans’ mission is to share their passion with friends and family to impact the country in small ways as one family under God. Wan Fambul in the native language Krio means One Family.

In Freetown, we partner with Princess Ngawojah Cole who assists us in identifying needs and distributing funds for those needs. Additionally, Pastor Augustine and his wife Kadijah Kargbo work on our behalf to fulfill various needs and identify projects we become involved in.
